Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez has emerged as a rumoured transfer target for Manchester United, setting up a possible tug-of-war with rivals Manchester City.
The 24-year-old has been attracting interest from Pep Guardiola in recent months, despite his buyout clause being set at £130m, as the Citizens are in need of a new central midfielder.
City could face competition from neighbours United, though, as ESPN reports that Solskjaer is also keen on the Spain international.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to be heavily backed in the summer transfer market, and it is hoped that United can persuade Atletico to sell for around £80m.
Saul has started 32 of Atletico's 38 La Liga and Champions League matches this term, playing a direct part in six goals.
