Roma want to sign Manchester United midfielder Fred on a two-year loan, according to a report.

Roma are reportedly interested in acquiring Manchester United midfielder Fred on a two-year loan.

United signed the Brazil international from Shakhtar Donetsk in a £52m deal last summer.

The 26-year-old struggled to make his mark with the 20-time English champions, though, scoring just once in 17 Premier League appearances.

According to Il Romanista, new Roma boss Paulo Fonseca, who managed Fred at Shakhtar, is keen to bring the South American to the Stadio Olimpico for the 2019-20 campaign.

The report claims that the Serie A side want to sign the midfielder on a two-year loan agreement and have already agreed personal terms with the player ahead of a potential switch.

Fred featured in seven of United's final 11 Premier League matches of the 2018-19 season.
