Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has claimed that his side are three players away from being considered genuine contenders for the Premier League title.
The Red Devils returned to within three points of fourth-placed Chelsea in the table courtesy of a 2-0 victory over Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
United are 37 points off league leaders Liverpool, though, with nine matches left to play.
Despite the huge gap to first position, Solskjaer has said that his team are realistically only three new signings away from challenging for the championship once again.
"We feel we are improving all the time," the Evening Standard quotes Solskjaer as saying. "We know we lack one, two, three players to be considered a title contender and some experience. We know that."
The 20-time English champions will travel to LASK for the first leg of their Europa League last-16 clash on Thursday night before visiting Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on March 15.
