Manchester United are said to have ended their interest in Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti.
According to Marca, the Red Devils have conceded defeat in their efforts to sign the Frenchman, amid reports that he is on the verge of renewing his contract with the Spanish giants.
Umtiti is under contract with the Catalan outfit until 2021 but his current deal is said to include a €60m (£52m) release clause that interested parties could trigger.
Reports, however, suggest that the club is keen to quash the speculation surrounding the 24-year-old's future by agreeing fresh terms with him.
Umtiti joined Barca from French outfit Lyon in 2016.
