Louis van Gaal determined to keep David de Gea

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is determined to keep David de Gea at the club for the foreseeable future despite the keeper being linked to Real Madrid.

Louis van Gaal has outlined his desire to keep David de Gea at Manchester United for the foreseeable future.

The 24-year-old has been in outstanding form for the Red Devils, making several important stops that have earned his side points this season.

De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid as the successor to Iker Casillas, which leaves United with a major decision to make regarding his future as the keeper has just 18 months left on his contract at Old Trafford.

"I think that is a question between the player and the board of Manchester United," Van Gaal told reporters. "Everything is possible in the world of football. We want to keep him."

De Gea joined United in 2011 from Atletico Madrid.
