Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray hopes to add up to three new players to his squad this week.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray has revealed that he is hopeful of adding up to three new players to his squad this week.

It is believed that all three potential signings have visited the club in recent weeks, with Mowbray claiming that "the irons are in the fire".

"The best case scenario is it all comes together nicely and we get the key signings we're trying to get," Mowbray told the Evening Gazette.

"If it gets frustrating then it's frustrating and we go with what we've got and keep working behind the scenes.

"But the irons are in fire and we're hoping to pull them out this week and add them to our squad."

One target is believed to be Pacos de Ferreira midfielder Vitor.
