Arnold Muhren hits out at Arjen Robben

Former Netherlands midfielder Arnold Muhren hits out at Arjen Robben for diving during the team's last-16 win over Mexico at the World Cup.

Former Netherlands midfielder Arnold Muhren has criticised Arjen Robben for diving during the team's victory over Mexico at the World Cup.

Robben earned a contentious winning penalty for his side on Sunday as they progressed through to the quarter-finals with a 2-1 triumph.

Despite Robben's apology for going down too easily earlier on in the match, Muhren believes that the winger should cut it out of his game.

"In the first half, the Netherlands deserved a penalty. The award to Holland for the second goal... I didn't think it was a penalty," he told BBC Sport.

"Robben apologised for diving but you shouldn't do it at all - I don't see English players doing it. We don't like it in the Netherlands either."

Following their win over Mexico, the Netherlands will face Costa Rica for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
