Luuk de Jong: 'Newcastle United were boring'

Luuk de Jong claims that Newcastle United's defeat at Fulham on Saturday was a "boring" game.

Newcastle United striker Luuk de Jong has claimed that their 1-0 defeat at Fulham was a "boring" match.

The Magpies were beaten at Craven Cottage on Saturday as Ashkan Dejagah's strike gave Fulham their first win in 10 Premier League outings.

De Jong has said that he feels for the fans who made the trip to London for the match.

"We wanted to win this game, of course," he told the Shields Gazette.

"I think the game was quite boring for the fans, not much happened – and we didn't score from the moment when we had a big chance.

"Afterwards, they got a good chance and scored."

Newcastle have dropped to ninth in the table following the defeat.
