Alan Pardew hopes to boost attacking areas this summer

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew reveals that he wants to boost his attacking options this summer.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has revealed that he wants to boost his attacking options during the summer transfer window.

Loic Remy's loan deal at St James' Park is due to expire at the end of the season, while Shola Ameobi is also expected to leave on a free transfer.

Having seen his side score just one goal in their last five matches, Pardew is eager to add to his squad up front ahead of the new campaign.

"We know, in the summer, we have a kitty to spend," Pardew told the Shields Gazette. "We're going to need to spend it well, particularly in offensive areas."

Newcastle continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday away to Stoke City.
