Carlo Ancelotti wants Premier League return

Carlo Ancelotti admits that the Premier League is his preference as he plots a return to football management.

Reported Chelsea target Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he would favour a second adventure in the Premier League as he plots a return to management.

The Italian has been linked with a return to the Blues in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho's side sit 16th in the table, 15 points off the pace following a disastrous start to the campaign.

The 56-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Real Madrid in the summer, though he has no plans on ending his sabbatical until the end of the season.

"I had a fantastic experience in France and Spain," he told BBC Sport.

"The most important thing is to start; to find a club with a good project and be competitive. If it's in England, it's better.

"I will stay out until the end of the season and try to find another club next season. Not just in England, it can be in another country, but my idea is not to start now."

He previously led Chelsea to a Premier League and FA Cup double in 2010, before being sacked a year later.
