Winless Nottingham Forest run continues

Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday play out an exciting 3-3 draw at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest's run without a win has stretched to 11 games following an eventful 3-3 draw against Sheffield Wednesday at the City Ground.

Wednesday took the lead on 15 minutes when Danny Collins upended Chris Maguire in the penalty area, paving the way for the striker to convert from the spot to make it 1-0.

Forest went in search of an equaliser and they very nearly got it through Matt Derbyshire following a counter-attack, only for Miguel Angel Llera to clear off the line.

The Reds did manage to level the contest on the brink of half time through Jamie Mackie who converted Jamie Patterson's cross, but Wednesday hit back instantly when Lewis Buxton bundled home a corner to give regain Wednesday's lead going into the interval.

Twelve minutes into the second half Joe Mattock extended his side's advantage when he drilled the ball home following a short corner.

Forest had numerous penalty appeals turned down as they went in search of a goal, but Leon Best nearly put the game beyond the hosts when he narrowly fired over from a Maguire corner.

Gary Brazil's side did pull a goal back with a little over 10 minutes left to play when former Owl Marcus Tudgay nodded home at the back post.

Collins was dismissed soon after for a second bookable offence, though Paterson stepped up to curl a 25-yard free kick past Chris Kirkland to snatch a point for Forest in the closing stages to secure a dramatic point.
