Nottingham Forest sign Sporting Lisbon defender Tobias Figueiredo on loan

Nottingham Forest announce the arrival of Sporting Lisbon centre-back Tobias Figueiredo on loan until the end of the season.

Nottingham Forest have announced the signing of Sporting Lisbon centre-back Tobias Figueiredo on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old becomes the first new arrival at the City Ground this month and is the first signing made by new Reds boss Aitor Karanka.

Figueiredo has featured for Sporting in both the Europa League and the Champions League and has previously had loan spells at Reus and Nacional.

However, the former Portugal Under-21 international has struggled for game time this season, making just six appearances for Sporting and clocking up 463 minutes of football.

Forest currently sit 14th in the Championship table and host Preston North End on Tuesday night.
