Nottingham Forest are reportedly close to signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon to continue their busy summer of transfer business.

Nottingham Forest are reportedly set to sign Houssem Aouar from Lyon.

The newly-promoted club have experienced a busy summer, signing as many as 14 players in a bid to avoid relegation this term.

Cheikhou Kouyate and Emmanuel Dennis are the latest to join Steve Cooper's side, but they are still looking to add to their squad.

According to Sky Sports News, Nottingham Forest are closing in on a deal to sign Aouar from Lyon, with the 24-year-old set to end a six-year stay with the Ligue 1 club.

Aouar looked to be close to completing a move to La Liga club Real Betis this summer, but that potential transfer collapsed, paving the way for Forest to make an attempt to sign the Frenchman.

The midfielder is set to leave Lyon after scoring 40 goals and providing 35 assists in 215 appearances with the French club.
