Raffaele Palladino came close for the visitors early on when he headed over the bar and, soon after, Massimo Gobbi blazed a strike just too high of Stefano Sorrentino's goal.
Palermo were then inches away from taking the lead as Franco Vazquez fired a strike against the post.
In the 37th minute, the hosts did break the deadlock as Paulo Dybala slotted in from Edgar Barreto's pass following a well-worked free kick.
Parma then levelled the scores four minutes later as Palladino was picked out by Antonio Cassano before confidently chipping an effort over the keeper.

Barreto restored Palermo's lead in the 73rd minute when his free kick form out wide missed everyone inside the box and ended up in the back of the net.
Parma were dealt a further blow as the game entered the final 10 minutes as Felipe was sent off for picking up his second booking.
In the 90th minute, Barreto was dismissed for receiving a second yellow card, but his team managed to hold on for a win which extends their unbeaten run in the league to five matches.
