New York Red Bulls have produced a rousing second-half display to secure a 3-1 win at Philadelphia Union.
Maurice Edu came close to firing the hosts ahead after just two minutes but his effort following Cristian Maidana's corner went narrowly wide.
Union continued to pile on the pressure and perhaps should have opened the scoring on the seven-minute mark but Sebastian Le Toux, from six yards out, missed the target.
At the other end, Mike Grella went close for the visitors by drilling narrowly over the bar from outside the area in the Red Bulls' only chance in the opening half-hour.
Edu was guilty of another miss on 37 minutes by missing the goal from a matter of yards out as New York deservedly went into the break on level terms.
On 66 minutes, Sacha Kljestan rolled home a penalty as Red Bulls broke the deadlock against the run of play, but the lead only lasted seven minutes as Le Toux atoned for his earlier misses with an equaliser.
Moments later, though, Wright-Phillips restored the visitors' lead, before Anatole Abang made sure of the win in the closing seconds.
