Port Vale have announced that they have appointed Darren Moore as their new manager.
Earlier this month, the owners of the League One outfit opted to end the reign of Andy Crosby after just 10 months in charge.
Although he won 14 of 44 matches in charge, Vale had been in dismal form since the middle of September, winning just three of their 20 fixtures in the third tier during that time.
Now sitting in the relegation zone, a permanent appointment has been required, and the Staffordshire-based club have opted to bring in the experienced Moore.
The 49-year-old guided Sheffield Wednesday to promotion to the Championship during 2022-23 before a disagreement with the club's owners over a strategy to progress forward led to his departure.

Moore was soon named as the new Huddersfield Town manager, yet that reign lasted just over four months as the Terriers posted only three wins in 23 games with Moore in the dugout.
Just two weeks after his departure from the John Smith's Stadium, Moore is back in a job at Vale on a contract until 2029.
Speaking to the club's official website, Moore said: "When speaking to Carol (co-owner and chairperson, Shanahan), Dave (director of football, Flitcroft) and the club's board, it's clear that Port Vale FC and I are perfectly aligned with our long-term aspirations both on and off the pitch.
"Our immediate aim is securing the club's League One status between now and the end of this season whilst putting the foundations in place to create a clear footballing identity.
"The contract is a long-term commitment from both myself and Port Vale FC; it's a testament to the long-term vision of the club and a vision that we as a collective from myself, the supporters, the club staff and the players are all striving towards. I am absolutely delighted to be here and I am thoroughly excited to get going."
Moore will be in the stands when Vale take on Peterborough United at London Road on Tuesday night.
