Mark Hughes insists that the linesman was not good enough in their 2-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers.

Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes has claimed that games cannot be refereed in the way that they are currently.

Hughes's side lost 2-1 to Bolton Wanderers in the early kickoff, but were denied a goal when Clint Hill's header went over the line but did not count.

The former Manchester City boss claimed that the referee, Martin Atkinson, did not get the support from his assistants. He also said that the linesman "didn't have the greatest day" after allowing QPR's goal despite Djibril Cisse being offside.

"I think everybody saw the decision that went against us," Hughes told Sky Sports News.

"Martin Atkinson is a good referee, but I don't think he got enough support from his assistants. Unfortunately the assistant linesman didn't have the greatest day in terms of what their performance was like.

"We can't have key moments in games being officiated in the way they are at the moment."

QPR are now in the relegation zone, sitting in 18th place on 22 points.
