Saturday's La Liga predictions including Real Madrid vs. Espanyol

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's La Liga fixtures, including Real Madrid vs. Espanyol.

Alaves vs. Villarreal (Saturday, 1.00pm)

Fresh from Wednesday's Champions League semi-final first-leg defeat to Liverpool, Villarreal will resume their La Liga campaign away to struggling Alaves on Saturday afternoon.

The Yellow Submarine, who lost 2-0 at Anfield in the European Cup, are currently seventh in the table, while Alaves sit 20th, now six points behind 17th-placed Cadiz with five matches left.

We say: Alaves 1-1 Villarreal

Alaves will certainly be the fresher of the two teams, which could count for a lot, especially in the second period, as Villarreal put so much into their clash with Liverpool. Alaves need wins rather than draws at this stage of the season, but they might just settle for a point on Saturday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Real Madrid vs. Espanyol (Saturday, 3.15pm)

Real Madrid will welcome Espanyol to Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon knowing that a point would be enough to win the La Liga title with four matches to spare.

Los Blancos will enter the contest off the back of a 4-3 defeat to Manchester City in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in Manchester, while Espanyol, who are 13th in Spain's top flight on 39 points, suffered a 1-0 loss to Rayo Vallecano in the league last time out.

We say: Real Madrid 2-1 Espanyol

Espanyol will be taking on far from a full-strength Real Madrid, which should hand them confidence heading into the contest, but the Catalan outfit have been so disappointing away from home this season, and we are backing Los Blancos to win the title with a narrow win rather than a single point.

Our tipster partners are predicting a home win.

Valencia vs. Levante (Saturday, 5.30pm)

The latest edition of the Valencia derby will take place at Mestalla on Saturday evening, as top-10 hopefuls Valencia welcome relegation-threatened Levante for a key battle.

Valencia lost on penalties to Real Betis in the Copa del Rey final last weekend, while Levante, who sit 19th in the table, will enter the match off the back of a 3-2 home defeat to Sevilla.

We say: Valencia 2-1 Levante

It is difficult to ignore Levante's record at Mestalla, with Valencia enjoying so much success at home against their bitter rivals. The visitors need the points to boost their relegation hopes, but we are finding it tough to back anything other than a home success on Saturday evening.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Atletico (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Atletico Madrid will be bidding to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot in La Liga when they head to San Mames on Saturday evening to take on Athletic Bilbao.

Diego Simeone's side are currently fourth in the table, four points clear of fifth-placed Real Betis, while Athletic occupy eighth, seven points behind sixth-placed Real Sociedad in the race for a European finish.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Atletico Madrid

Only Cadiz (13) have drawn more league matches than Athletic (12) this season, and we fancy the Basque outfit to secure a share of the spoils here. Atletico need to win to strengthen their grip on a top-four spot, but the champions struggled against Granada last time out and might have to settle for another point.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
