Southampton winger Jason Puncheon has admitted that he and his teammates are relieved to be all but safe from the threat of relegation from the Premier League.
The 26-year-old scored the Saints' equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Sunderland, which means that their superior goal difference will stop them from falling into the relegation zone even if they lose on the final day of the season.
"It's a nice moment for the whole football club, for the fans and for everybody who's been involved in this," Puncheon told the club's official website.
"It's been a bit edgy towards the end, so maybe people have panicked a bit but we have done it now unless something dramatic happens. We can be happy and go into the Stoke game at home to get three points from that."
Southampton are 14th in the Premier League following their point at the Stadium of Light.
