Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Jose Fonte, who has helped the Saints keep six clean sheets in 12 league games this season.

Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Southampton defender Jose Fonte.

The 29-year-old centre-back has been a key player for the Saints this season, helping the South Coast club to keep six clean sheets in 12 league games.

Fonte's fine form has not gone unnoticed in Turkey and, according to The Mirror, Besiktas could launch a bid for the Portuguese in January.

There are 19 months remaining on Fonte's current contract at St Mary's Stadium.
