Southampton's Mauricio Pochettino not listening to Tottenham Hotspur rumours

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino dismisses rumours linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has brushed off speculation linking him with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Argentine has been touted as a possible new head coach at White Hart Lane should the North London outfit part ways with Tim Sherwood.

However, Pochettino, who has previously been linked with Real Madrid, has insisted that he is purely focused on continuing his work at St Mary's.

"I don't really like to talk about rumours, and when anything happens, yes or no or whatever happens, there will be a public statement made," he told reporters.

"[The Tottenham reports] are really nothing to manage. Rumours are perfectly normal in football and we're completely fine with the rumours hanging around. I don't really have anything to comment regarding that.

"When I was at Espanyol I was rumoured to be linked with other clubs. Nothing ever came of those rumours and now the same thing is happening at Southampton. So it's nothing that really phases me in any way."

The 42-year-old moved to Southampton last year.
