Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has talked up the importance of regularly adapting his side's style following their 1-1 draw with North London rivals Arsenal today.
Despite boasting the best defensive record in the Premier League, Pochettino opted to switch his system to an unfamiliar 3-4-2-1 as his side made the short trip to the Emirates.
Spurs came away with a draw to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, although Pochettino revealed that his side's winless streak - which now stands at seven games - was the reason behind the change.
"Today you need to be flexible. In the last month we've had some small problems and we always need to adapt our system and our game," he told reporters.
"Today we worked a lot to try to find better solutions in the offensive area and tried to play thinking about the opposite goal, higher up with two strikers and one offensive player in behind to create chances and win the game."
The draw leaves Spurs fifth in the Premier League table, five points adrift of leaders Liverpool.
