Mauricio Pochettino is pleased with Tottenham Hotspur's resolve and character as Harry Kane's late header gave Spurs a 1-0 Premier League win at Crystal Palace.

Mauricio Pochettino has hailed Tottenham Hotspur's resolve as Harry Kane's late winner gave the North Londoners a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Spurs dominated proceedings at Selhurst Park but despite boasting over 75% of possession, they could not find a breakthrough for most of the game.

However, the visitors' pressure finally yielded a goal as Kane headed home past Wayne Hennessey two minutes from time to snatch all three points.

"When you are involved in the game, always you are thinking about the next time," Pochettino told reporters in his post-match interview.

"In the end we deserved the victory. We fully deserved [it] and had the chance.

"The performance was good. It wasn't easy to play here. In the end the three points was the most important [thing]. The team will never give up."

Spurs switch their attention to the FA Cup as they seek to overcome League One Rochdale in their fifth-round replay at Wembley on Wednesday night.
