Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expected to announce the managerial appointment of Paulo Fonseca on a three-year contract later this week.

Paulo Fonseca has reportedly agreed to become the new manager of Tottenham Hotspur on a three-year contract.

While Ryan Mason completed the season in the dugout on an interim basis, Spurs have been without a permanent boss for almost two months having sacked Jose Mourinho on April 19.

However, once negotiations failed to progress with Antonio Conte, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy turned to Fonseca after his departure from Roma.

According to The Guardian, the two parties are expected to be in a position to announce a deal later this week.

The report says that Spurs' new director of football Fabio Paratici, formerly of Juventus, has held positive discussions with the Portuguese over recent days.

Fonseca will be tasked with trying to earn Spurs a return to the Champions League after they only finished in seventh place in the Premier League.
