Mark Hughes: 'Saido Berahino would choose Tottenham Hotspur over Stoke City'

Mark Hughes says that Saido Berahino would choose to join Tottenham Hotspur over Stoke City.

Mark Hughes has predicted that Saido Berahino would choose to join Tottenham Hotspur over Stoke City if a transfer became available.

The England Under-21 international was linked to both clubs in January, and is expected to be the subject of rumours when the season comes to a close.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has previously claimed that Berahino will join a top-four club in the future, and Hughes believes that Stoke would lose out to their North London rivals.

"By all accounts Spurs will always have an interest in quite a few players we are interested in," the Express & Star quotes Hughes as saying.

"There are players out there who you express an interest in, but because they are good players there will always be other teams involved.

"If we're being realistic, if a player has a choice of Spurs or Stoke, then we could pitch up and make a good case for them to come here, but they may feel Spurs is a more attractive option and we have to accept that."

Berahino has scored seven goals this season.
