Report: Tottenham Hotspur demand £310m for Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur reportedly place a £310m price tag on star striker Harry Kane's head amid interest from European champions Real Madrid.

Real Madrid must smash the current transfer record if they want to prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur, according to a report.

Los Blancos find themselves fifth in La Liga after 18 matches, 10 points adrift of leaders Barcelona, and are in desperate need of a freshen up ahead of next season.

Kane is a long-term target for the European champions, who have netted 24 goals fewer than bitter rivals Barca, but The Sun suggests that it will take a mammoth bid to persuade Tottenham to cash in.

The World Cup's top-scoring player is said to be valued at £310m, which is £112m more than Paris Saint-Germain splashed out to sign Neymar from Barcelona in August 2017.

Madrid failed to replace record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo last year, with the Portuguese forward contributing at least 40 goals in eight straight seasons before his shock departure to Juventus.

Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale lead the scoring charts for Madrid this season with 12 and 10 goals respectively in all competitions, but both men could be sold to fund a move for prolific marksman Kane.
