Tottenham Hotspur want to move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo in January, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning to move for Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo in January, providing that the North London club can secure an exit for Eric Dier.

Burnley were linked with a move for Dier in the latter stages of the summer transfer window, but the market closed with the England international still at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 29-year-old is not thought to be in the long-term plans of Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou, and with his contract expiring next summer, the capital outfit are said to be keen to move him on in January.

According to Football Insider, Tottenham have already identified a replacement, with Adarabioyo wanted by Postecoglou during the winter transfer market.

The report claims that Spurs are confident that a cut-price deal could be agreed for the 25-year-old in January, as his contract at Craven Cottage is due to expire next summer.

Adarabioyo was heavily linked with Monaco in the final week of the summer transfer window, but a potential switch to the Ligue 1 outfit fell through in the latter stages of the market.

The former Manchester City youngster has been a vital player for Fulham since his arrival in 2020, making 107 appearances in all competitions.

However, he has only played one minute of football for Marco Silva's side this season due to the speculation surrounding his future, appearing off the bench against Arsenal on August 26.

Adarabioyo was absent from the matchday squad against Man City on September 2, meanwhile, having been heavily linked with a departure on transfer deadline day.

Tottenham added Micky van de Ven to their defensive department over the summer, and the Dutchman has started the season alongside Cristian Romero in the heart of the defence.

There had been negativity surrounding the club when Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich, but Spurs have made an impressive start to the season under their new manager.

Tottenham have picked up 10 points from their opening four matches to sit second in the table, and they recorded a 5-2 win over Burnley before the international break.

Spurs are not in Europe this season, while they were knocked out of the League Cup by Fulham last month, meaning that the club only have the Premier League and the FA Cup to focus on.

Postecoglou's side will be back in league action at home to Sheffield United next Saturday.
