Mark Hughes delighted with second-half Stoke City display

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes reveals his delight with his side's second-half display after their 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has expressed his delight with a "good point" after his side fought back to draw 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Two goals inside the final 12 minutes gave the Potters a share of the spoils at White Hart Lane, and while Hughes was unhappy with the first half, the Welshman was pleased with how his players responded in the second period.

Hughes told Sky Sports News: "First half it wasn't what we were looking for. We gave them too much time and played into their hands. I was disappointed with both goals we conceded.

"At 2-0 it was a big task for us, but I understood what we needed to do. We needed to disrupt their rhythm and do the hard yards. The substitutions helped and gave us a bit more craft and we were able to get back into it.

"I've got a lot of good players here who won't be happy when they're left out, and that's what we like. We were really delighted with the second-half performance. It wasn't a complete 90-minute display but we're delighted with a good point."

Stoke travel to Norwich City next week.
