Former Swansea City midfielder Andrea Orlandi has claimed that replacing Michael Laudrup with Garry Monk was the best decision the club has ever made.
Monk has enjoyed a promising start to his managerial career since being selected as the Dane's successor in February, and Orlandi believes that the club will continue to reap the benefits from having their former captain in charge.
"Garry Monk was my teammate in Swansea, and I believe that sacking Laudrup and getting Monk to replace him was the best decision the club has made," the Spaniard, who is now at Blackpool, is quoted as saying by the South Wales Evening Post.
"I cannot say much about Laudrup as a person, always correct and diplomatic, as I never got to know him enough to be able to judge him at that level.
"Now the team is in the hands of someone who loves the club, who really works hard and who studies the opposition and tries to become better. You can be sure I know what I am talking about."
Swansea, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League, meet Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.
