The United States have recovered from two down to open their Olympic campaign with a 4-2 victory over France.
It was the US who started the match the better with Megan Rapinoe causing all sorts of problems with her direct running, while Tobin Heath headed over with six minutes on the clock.
However, it was France who broke the deadlock after 12 minutes when Gaetane Thiney thumped a powerful effort past Hope Solo - and it was quickly two moments later when Marie-Laure Delie struck from close range.
The United States did get themselves back into the match after 19 minutes, however, when Abby Wambach thumped a header into the top corner.
The US were back on level terms after 32 minutes when Alex Morgan hooked the ball home from close range.
USA completed the turnaround after 56 minutes when Carli Lloyd struck a fine effort into the net from distance.
Still it was the United States who looked the most likely, and they made sure of all three points after 66 minutes when Morgan added her second from close range.
Eugenie Le Sommer carried France's biggest threat in the latter stages, but it remained 4-2 to the USA.
