Cesare Prandelli: 'Stopping Barcelona not easy'

New Valencia boss Cesare Prandelli says that Saturday's La Liga clash with Spanish champions Barcelona will be a tough match for Los Che.

Valencia boss Cesare Prandelli has conceded that Saturday's La Liga clash with Barcelona will be a tough match for his team.

A disappointing start to the 2016-17 campaign has left Valencia down in 14th position in La Liga, but Prandelli's first game in charge ended in a 2-1 victory away to Sporting Gijon last weekend.

The newly-appointed head coach has insisted that there are no hard feelings with Barcelona forward Luis Suarez, who was involved in an infamous biting incident during the 2014 World Cup, when Prandelli was Italy boss.

"The last time I was up against Barcelona striker Suarez was during the World Cup. Will meet him in three days but I do not have any prejudice," Prandelli told Calciomercato.

"Preparing a game against Barcelona isn't easy. You can't stop the talent, only hinder it. You just have to seize their weak moments."

Valencia are currently on a nine-game winless run at home to Barcelona in the league.
