Jack Collison: 'Wales can emulate Greece and win Euro 2016'

Wales midfielder Jack Collison believes that Wales can emulate Greece's win at Euro 2004 by triumphing at next year's finals in France.

Wales midfielder Jack Collison has claimed that Wales can emulate Greece's achievements at Euro 2004 to win next year's championships in France.

The Dragons qualified for Euro 2016, their first tournament since the 1958 World Cup, by finishing second in Group B behind Belgium.

Collison told BBC Sport: "Greece did the impossible and won the tournament in 2004. It would be far less of a shock if Wales did the same next summer.

"Like Greece, the key to Wales's success is being hard to beat. They seem to enjoy defending. They are no longer a soft touch at set pieces. They enjoy putting their bodies on the line. The will to win seems to be strong than ever."

Greece did not concede a single goal in the knockout stages of Euro 2004 as they saw off France, the Czech Republic and hosts Portugal to claim their first title.
