Slaven Bilic: 'Emmanuel Emenike deal is complicated'

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic admits that his club still have work to do if they are to bring Fenerbahce striker Emmanuel Emenike to the Boleyn Ground this month.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has admitted that his club's loan move for Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike has become "complicated" due to the involvement of both Fenerbahce and UAE side Al-Ain.

The Hammers have been strongly linked with the 28-year-old since the start of the January transfer window and had hoped to have the forward in place for the FA Cup fourth-round clash with Liverpool this weekend.

Bilic, however, has revealed that the Premier League side "are still waiting" due to the involvement of Emenike's parent club, Fenerbahce, and also Al-Ain, where the Nigeria international has been on loan this season.

"We are still waiting. It's a complicated situation because he is a Fenerbahce player but he was on loan at Al-Ain. We spoke with Al-Ain and thought we could do a straight swap with them but Fenerbahce had to be involved," Bilic told reporters.

Emenike was initially due to spend the entirety of the 2015-16 campaign on loan with Al-Ain.
