William Carvalho is reportedly still keen on joining West Ham United despite the war of words between the East Londoners and parent club Sporting Lisbon.

Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is reportedly still keen on joining West Ham United despite the war of words between the two clubs.

The Hammers claim to have made a club-record approach to sign the Portugal international during the recent transfer window - and reportedly have email evidence to prove it - but Sporting have denied that they ever received a formal bid for their player.

Things subsequently escalated between the two clubs, with West Ham threatening legal action against Sporting, while the Primeira Liga outfit have claimed that they might report the East Londoners to FIFA over an alleged illegal approach.

According to The Mirror, however, Slaven Bilic still wants the 25-year-old to form a midfield partnership with Cheikhou Kouyate, while Carvalho remains keen on a move to the Premier League.

Carvalho has made 157 appearances for Sporting since being promoted from their youth team in 2011.
