Former West Ham United defender Alvin Martin thinks that David Beckham should move to Upton Park when he leaves LA Galaxy next month.

Former West Ham United defender Alvin Martin believes that David Beckham would fit 'perfectly' into the Premier League team.

The 37-year-old midfielder will be in the hunt for a new club from next month after announcing that he intends to leave Los Angeles Galaxy after the MLS Cup final.

"He should go to West Ham," Martin told talkSPORT. "If West Ham are doing as well towards the end of the season as they are now, then why not?

"He'd be perfect at delivering balls for Andy Carroll. He's still got another year or two in him yet because he's not all about pace or athleticism."

Reports have claimed that Australian side Melbourne Heart are keen on securing the midfielder's signature.
