Former Wigan Athletic midfielder Roger Espinoza returns to MLS side Sporting Kansas City.

Former Wigan Athletic midfielder Roger Espinoza has returned to MLS side Sporting Kansas City.

The 28-year-old joined the Latics two years ago from the American club and made a total of 57 appearances during his time in England.

However, the versatile midfielder, who can also play full-back, has now returned to his former club on a long-term deal after his Wigan contract was cancelled at the end of last month.

Espinoza, who has gained 42 caps for Honduras, won the FA Cup during his time with Wigan.
