Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo dismisses Ian Cathro reports

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo dismisses reports that he is about to hire sacked Hearts manager Ian Cathro as a coach.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno Espirito Santo has dismissed reports that he is about to add former Hearts boss Ian Cathro to his backroom staff.

The ex-Jambos head coach, who has worked with Santo at Rio Ave in Portugal and Valencia, was recently spotted at Molineux, sparking rumours of a reunion between the pair.

However, the Wolves boss has been quoted as saying that Cathro was merely paying him a social visit.

"I have known Ian for a long, long time. Unfortunately he is no longer in the job at Hearts," Santo told The Sun. "But he was only here to visit me as a friend."

Cathro was sacked as Hearts boss on August 1, having won just eight of his 30 matches at the helm.
