Justin Harding leads by one after Tshwane Open first round

Justin Harding chips in at the last to record a seven-under-par 63 and take the lead after the first round of the Tshwane Open at Pretoria Country Club.

Home favourite Justin Harding has shot a seven-under-par 63 to lead after the first round of the Tshwane Open in South Africa.

World number 509 Harding, who turned 30 on Tuesday, made eight birdies and one bogey around Pretoria Country Club and finished his round with a chip-in at the last.

South Africans dominate the top of the leaderboard, with Harding's compatriots Anthony Michael and Theunis Spangenberg on six and five-under respectively in second and third.

World number 43 Charl Schwartzel is the highest-ranked player in the field, but he will have work to do to make the cut having bogeyed two of his last five holes to card a one-over 71 in his first appearance since December 6.
