Tiger Woods again started strongly but failed to see it through as he carded a two-under-par 70 in the third round of the Hero World Challenge.
The 14-time Major champion, competing for the first time in 15 months after undergoing two back operations, birdied the first three holes and continued that solid showing into the sixth, which he could only bogey.
Woods's red-hot start, much like during Thursday's opening session in the Bahamas, fast faded as he dropped six shots on the final six holes - including a double-bogey on the last - to find himself in 10th place in the overnight standings.
While Woods finds himself in middle ground, Hideki Matsuyama made up the gap on round-two leader Dustin Johnson thanks to an impressive showing on Saturday that saw him end on seven-under for the day.
Matsuyama bogeyed twice but also claimed an eagle on the par-four seventh, leaving him a mammoth seventh shots ahead of Johnson and Henrik Stenson who are locked in a tie for second.
Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker are one shot further back, carding rounds of 66 and 71 respectively to remain just about in contention should Matsuyama slip up in the final round.
