Liverpool's Mario Balotelli 'struggling to understand scouse accent'

Mario Balotelli reportedly needs the help of Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to understand the scouse accent.

Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has reportedly been seeking the help of teammate Steven Gerrard in a bid to understand the scouse accent.

The Italy international moved to Merseyside in August after the Reds paid AC Milan £16m for the striker's services.

Despite having lived in the North-West of England for three years while playing for Manchester City, Balotelli is believed to be struggling with this particular regional accent.

According to the Daily Star, the controversial forward has joked with members of the club that he cannot understand the local accent so he has been making an effort to grasp it.

Balotelli has scored just one goal since making the move to Anfield.
