Former Oasis frontman and Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has expressed his delight at seeing Luis Suarez in tears after Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Crystal Palace on Monday evening.
Suarez, who had earlier scored to claim a season record-equalling 31 Premier League goals, was left distraught after the Reds threw away a three-goal lead to leave their hopes of first league title in 24 years hanging by a thread.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Gallagher, who fronted the Manchester band alongside his brother, Liam before their break-up in 2009, said: "It was nice to see Suarez in tears at the end because he is a blatant cheat.
"I can't believe [Suarez] won the Football Writers' Award. They went 3-0 and got caught up in the emotion.
"Nobody wins by six or seven in the Premier League - unless you're playing Tottenham or Arsenal."
Four points from their last two games will see City crowned as champions.
