Johanna Konta lost to Garbine Muguruza in one of the latest matches ever at a grand slam as Thursday's play at the Australian Open stretched into Friday.

Konta and Muguruza took to the court for their second-round match at 12.30am, with the Spaniard clinching a 6-4 6-7(3) 7-5 victory at 3.12am.

Novak Djokovic also finished his victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga after midnight while Serena Williams and Simona Halep were among the other winners.
