Tommy Haas has beaten Novak Djokovic in straight sets to advance to the quarter-finals of the Miami Masters.

In a result that will have surprised many, the American beat the top seed 6-2, 6-4 to set up a last eight-clash with Gilles Simon.

Haas rolled back the years to take the first set 6-2 against the world number one before a two-game lead from Haas in the second finally shook the Serbian into mounting something of a comeback to 4-4.

However, Haas took the final two games to advance to the quarters.
