Serena Williams cruises past Svetlana Kuznetsova

Defending champion Serena Williams makes light work of Svetlana Kuznetsova by winning 6-2 6-3 in the fourth round of the Miami Open.

Serena Williams booked her place in the quarter-finals of the Miami Open by beating Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-2 6-3 this evening.

The world number one took just over an hour to record her 15th straight win in the tournament and join her sister Venus Williams in the last eight.

Williams took control of the match from the start and broke her Russian opponent twice to comfortably take the first set.

She then broke Kuznetsova early in the second set and served out the rest of the match with ease to keep her hopes alive of retaining her title.
