The two teams cancelled each other out at the start of the game, as they shared a point each after the second end. However, Norway pulled ahead in the third only to be pulled back by Team GB an end later.

Norway skip Thomas Ulsrud fired his team ahead at the end of the fifth as he capitalised on mistakes by Team GB to get a two. Two scoreless ends put the pressure right on Murdoch's side as the game neared its conclusion.

However, Murdoch rallied his side to even the scores with a two of his own with an inch-perfect throw as this time it was Norway making the crucial errors.

Ulsrud held his nerve with a throw in the ninth to give his side a one-point advantage going into the final end with the score at 5-4, where Team GB would have the hammer.

A tense match would be decided by the final shot as Ulsrud gave his counterpart a chance to win the game with a two with a knock-on shot, and Murdoch didn't disappoint as he made the clutch throw to send his side through to the last four.

Team GB will now face Sweden in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
