Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett has been ruled out of the new season after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee.
Dockett sustained the injury during practice on Monday, and after being carted off the field he is scheduled to have surgery before a lengthy rehabilitation process.
"He's a great player, a guy we count on day in and day out to be a leader and take us where we want to go. Hopefully he'll come back soon," fellow defensive tackle Calais Campbell said, ESPN reports.
Dockett is coming off his best season last year after recording 59 tackles and 4.5 sacks and has missed just two games in his 10-year career before this injury.
