The Atlanta Falcons have confirmed that they have released offensive lineman Sam Baker.
The NFC South side selected Baker in the first round of the 2008 Draft, and he became a solid starter at left tackle for the first five years of his career.
However, several knee injuries limited him to just four matches in the 2013 season, while he was ruled out for the entire 2014 campaign with a torn patellar tendon.
As a result of his injury problems, the Falcons have taken the decision to release the 30-year-old from their roster.
Baker played 70 matches for the Falcons in his six years at the club.
