Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith has asked the club's fans not to compare him to their former wideout Anquan Boldin, who left to join the San Francisco 49ers in 2013.
Smith said that he had a lot of respect for his fellow veteran, but is confident that he can make a name for himself as a very different type of receiver.
"I can tell you this: I'm not Anquan Boldin," Smith told the club's official website. "I respect the heck out of 'Q', and what 'Q' brings to the table is what 'Q' brings to the table.
"I'm Steve Smith, and what I bring to the table as a Baltimore Raven, I have to earn that, and my time on the field will display what I bring to the table."
Smith was drafted into the NFL in 2001 and spent 13 seasons with the Carolina Panthers.
