Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan has claimed that Stephon Gilmore is among the "elite" cornerbacks in the NFL.
The 24-year-old has been a solid presence in the secondary of the Bills since he was selected in the first round of the 2012 Draft, but Ryan feels that Gilmore's performances have been better than his statistics suggest.
"Where people miss it sometimes is, how many balls get caught on him? They don't complete passes on him," Ryan told WGR-AM.
"Now, he might not get all the interceptions [but] they're not completing balls on him. This guy's an elite guy. There's no question about it."
Gilmore recorded 46 tackles, one forced fumble and three interceptions in 14 games for the Bills in the 2014 season.
