Buffalo Bills release linebacker Keith Rivers

The Buffalo Bills cut linebacker Keith Rivers after just one season at the club to save $1.7m in cap space ahead of free agency.

The Buffalo Bills have announced that they have released linebacker Keith Rivers.

The 28-year-old only joined the club on a two-year deal in 2014 after he left the New York Giants following a two-year spell with Tom Coughlin's men.

However, Rivers struggled for playing time with the Bills despite a series of injuries at his position, and has been cut to save $1.7m (£1.1m) in cap space ahead of free agency.

The linebacker recorded 16 tackles for the AFC East outfit in the 2014 season.
